  3. Choose the Paragraph Tagging tool (fourth tool down on the toolbar depicting text and a tag). 
  4. Tag the paragraph above as a Headline 1. Then tag it as Headline 
  5. 2, and Headline 3.

  7. Tag the next paragraph as a Sub Head 1. Then tag it as a Sub Head 
  8. 2, and Sub Head 3.

  10. Tagging Makes Publishing Easy
  11.  
  12. Each Tag you assign changes the text attributes for the entire paragraph. 
  13. For instance, you can take the following list of features, and tag 
  14. each one with the Bullet Tag. (If you want to tag them all at once, 
  15. press and hold the alt key, then select each paragraph. Release 
  16. the alt key and then select the Bullet Tag).

  24. DTP can print many characters not available to wordprocessor users, 
  25. including:

  27. Greek symbols
  28.  
  29. Mathematical symbols

  31. Typographic symbols

  33. Foreign characters: (e.g. 0192 to 0255)
  34.  
  35. These characters are entered by holding the ALT key and then typing 
  36. the numerical equivalent of the character on the keyboard numeric 
  37. keypad. For instance to type a copyright symbol (ANSI 0169) hold the 
  38. ALT key, type 0169 and release the ALT key.

  40. Select the Text Editing tool and insert a copyright symbol anywhere in this paragraph.

  42. You can force lines to end prematurely, without creating a new paragraph. 
  43. Press and hold the Ctrl key and the press the <<Enter>> key. This creates 
  44. the following effect:

  46. This is a line<R>
  47. but this is another line,<R>
  48. and yet all four lines<R>
  49. are part of the same paragraph.

  51. This is very useful for tables, headings.

  53. You can also select text and shift it horizontally to the left. This 
  54. is known as kerning. To see the effects of kerning, select the Paragraph 
  55. Tagging tool and tag the following paragraph as a Headline 1.

  59. Simple tables can be quickly formatted using the tab key, and selecting 
  60. a paragraph Tag which sets the tab stops. Tag each paragraph below 
  61. with the Table Tag.

  70. and delete text; cut, copy, and paste text; try different paragraph 
  71. Tags, and so on. When finished, try Opening other chapters contained
